How to Brew Our Coffee

Although there are many factors to consider in making the perfect cup of coffee, including, but not limited to, water to coffee ratio, water quality, water temperature, brewing method, grind type, and extraction levels, we have to start somewhere.

To keep it simple for most people, we recommend 2 tablespoons of ground coffee for every 6 fluid ounces of water.

But for those that want The Specialty Coffee Association publishes Coffee Standards to help guide us and our consumers on the best way to brew coffee, however, it's just a guide and not a hard and fast rule.

Coffee is so personal so we recommend to experiment and adjust factors to your preferences.

The SCA says: "Coffee shall exhibit a brew strength, measured in Total Dissolved Solids, of 11.5 to 13.5 grams per liter, corresponding to 1.15 to 1.35 "percent" on the SCA Brewing Control Chart, resulting from a solubles extraction yield of 18 to 22 percent*."
